This Privacy Policy explains how the Receipts app ("the App", "we", "us") handles your information. We built Receipts to keep your data on your device. By using the App, you agree to this policy.

1. Information stored on your device

Everything you add to the App — receipt photos, PDFs, invoices, store names, prices, dates, serial numbers, notes, return/warranty settings, and the text recognized from your receipts — is stored locally on your device using Apple's on-device storage. We do not have a server that receives, stores, or can access this content.

Receipt scanning is on-device. Text recognition runs entirely on your iPhone using Apple's Vision framework and a bundled offline engine. Your receipt images are not sent to us or to any third party for scanning.

2. Photos and camera

Camera: used only when you choose to scan a receipt. Images are saved in the App on your device.
Photo library: accessed only when you import an existing receipt or save a copy of a receipt back to your Photos.

3. Face ID

If you enable the optional app lock, Face ID (or your device passcode) is used to unlock the App. This authentication is handled entirely by iOS; we never receive your biometric data.

4. Advertising (Google AdMob)

The App displays ads served by Google AdMob. To deliver and measure ads, Google may collect and process certain information, such as a device advertising identifier (IDFA), approximate location derived from IP address, device information, and ad-interaction data.

App Tracking Transparency: the first time it's relevant, iOS asks for your permission before any cross-app tracking identifier is used. If you decline, you'll still see ads, but they will be non-personalized.
You can change this any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, and limit ad personalization in Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising.

5. Information we do not collect

We do not require an account to use the App. We do not collect your name, email, contacts, or receipt contents on our own servers. We have no analytics SDK that profiles you for us.

6. Data sharing

We do not sell your personal information. The only third party that processes data in connection with the App is Google, solely to provide advertising as described above.

7. Children

The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

8. Your choices

Delete any receipt at any time inside the App; deleting it removes it from your device.
Deleting the App removes all data it stored on your device.
Control ad tracking through the iOS Settings described in Section 4.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
